Britain nationalizes ailing Northern Rock (Reuters)

Reuters - Britain decided to nationalize Northern
Rock on Sunday, abandoning a five-month attempt to
snare a private sector buyer for the ailing bank and piling
more pressure on Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
